Questions people ask
Not here? Call or write and we'll answer in plain words.
How do I try a class?
Book a first-night or beginner class on our registration page, come a little early and check in at the front desk. You can come alone: we change partners through the class.
Do I need a partner?
No. Partners change every few minutes, so you dance with many people and never wait for one. Come on your own, with a friend or with your partner; all three work.
Which class is right for me?
If you've never danced, choose first night or beginner in the style that sounds like fun. If you're not sure, swing is an easy way in. Tell the teacher you're new and they'll look after you.
What should I wear?
Clothes you can move in and wouldn't mind being a little warm in. Shoes with a smooth sole slide well, and clean sneakers are fine for the first nights. Bring a water bottle.
What is a level, and how do I move up?
First night is for people who have never danced. Beginner builds the basics, improver adds turns and longer combinations, and all levels mixes everyone. Your teacher tells you when the next level fits; there is no test and no rush.
What does a pass include?
Every pass covers a class and the social after it. A drop-in is one night, a class card is a set number of nights across a session, and a monthly pass covers every class and both weekend socials.
Are there extras beyond a pass?
A few, and each is named in writing before you pay: dance shoes you buy on your own, workshop weekends with a guest teacher and private lessons.
What if I miss a night?
Tell the front desk before class and we'll move a drop-in to another night. Class cards and monthly passes cover any class on the schedule, so a missed Tuesday can become a Thursday.
How are photos handled?
We ask before we share a photo of anyone on the floor, and you can change your answer at any time. A photo on this site is an example until we replace it with our own.
