Class
Bachata
Bachata is slow, close and rhythmic, with a small step that is easy to pick up. We teach the hold first, and how close you stand is always your call. You can switch partners or sit out at any time.

What a class is like
- 01
Step 1: Warm up
Easy movement to the music, to find the beat before the step.
- 02
Step 2: The hold
How a partner frame works and how to say how close you'd like to be.
- 03
Step 3: The basic step
A small side-to-side step with a tap on the fourth beat, alone and then in pairs.
- 04
Step 4: Change partners
We rotate every few minutes, so nobody dances with the same person for long.
Good to know
What to wear
Clothes you can move in and shoes with a smooth sole. Clean sneakers are fine for the first nights. Bring water.
Class length and size
An hour, with up to 24 dancers. The social starts when the class ends.
Level and moving up
Beginner is the way in. Your teacher tells you when improver fits; there is no test and no rush.
